El Origen

This land had people on it long before it had a name. Indigenous nations were here for centuries before Spanish explorers showed up and called it Colorado, the Spanish word for colored red. That name stuck. And so did our roots. Most of us carry both sides of that history, indigenous and Spanish, which is exactly why this land has always felt like home.

MexCO started as a way to bring it back as something more than a history lesson. As something you wear to the trailhead, the carne asada, the farmers market, the hike with apá. Apparel that holds two identities at once without asking you to choose.

I was born and raised in Durango, Mexico. I moved to this country when I was 14. Colorado has been my home for more than half my life now, and I love being Mexican here just as much as I love being Mexican there. Soy de aquí y de allá, and I love all the complexity that comes with that.
